Bull Trout of Lindbergh Lake

The bull trout of Lindbergh Lake are majestic but somewhat mysterious creatures. At some point thousands of years ago (roughly at the time of the glacier retreat), they swam up from Flathead Lake, then Swan Lake.

Weeds

The LLHOA has been working with the Swan Ecosystem Center and Missoula County Extension Office on weed control since the September, 2000, homeowners meeting. Since that time, LLHA, Cygnet, and homeowners.

Pine Beetles

Pine beetle infestations throughout the western U.S. are thought to be related to drought conditions. The beetles are especially damaging to Douglas fir. 'Beetle patches' can be effective in preventing infestation of trees on your property.

Bears

The Swan Ecosystem Center's Bear Aware program works with Swan Valley residents and other partners to protect bears and humans and prevent property damage. The Bear Aware project helps people avoid conflicts with bears and other wildlife.

Lake Water

Quality Data

Lindbergh Lake's water has been periodically tested by the HOA and others. Tests have generally been limited to a few basic parameters such as nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus) and coliform bacteria.

LL Preservation Foundation

The Lindbergh Lake Preservation Foundation is a private organization dedicated to the preservation of Lindbergh Lake and surrounding areas.

Swan Valley Assessment

Published by the Swan Ecosystem in 2004, describes the climate, water resources, plants, animals and other features of the Upper Swan Valley area (roughly from the Beaver Creek drainage on the south to the Lion Creek drainage on the north, including the Lindbergh Lake area).
